Local Man Sentenced for Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent

38 year old James Michael CONNOLLY, of George’s Lane, appeared before the Supreme Court today where he was sentenced to imprisonment for two years and seven months, for the offence of Grievous Bodily Harm with Intent.
The charge followed a violent incident that took place on the 15th October 2024, in which a victim was left with serious injuries to his face, ribs, and chest.
The ensuing complex investigation by detectives from the RGP’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) involved forensic examinations, digital analysis, and a comprehensive review of CCTV footage, as officers worked to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The CID investigation led to CONNOLLY being identified, arrested, charged, and his subsequent entering of a Guilty plea.
