Sep 06 - Import And Exports Act Arrests At British Lines Road

A 17 year old local youth and a 38 year old Spanish national were arrested by HM Customs yesterday evening at British Lines Road. Both persons were seen exporting goods over the frontier fence and were arrested under the provisions of the Imports and Exports Act.
A Spanish registered vehicle was seized in this incident.
Both the youth and the Jimena resident have been bailed to surrender on September 27th.
In an un-related incident in the same area, HM Customs seized a Spanish registered vehicle after witnessing 4 men exporting goods and climbing over the frontier fence to Spain. Enquiries are ongoing.
