30 May 2014
Two Spanish men resident in La Linea and aged 36 and 23 respectively have been arrested for tobacco offences by RGP response officers.
Both men were arrested for possession of a commercial quantity of tobacco and for the attempted exportation of the same.
Officers on patrol at Eastern Beach noticed the two men attempting to throw the tobacco over the fence at the northern end of the said beach. A total of 20,000 cigarettes were seized.
The two men were later released on bail on their own recognizance to return to New Mole House in August of this year.
