Jul 16 - 715 Kgs of Cocaine Seized in Algeciras Port
16 July 2014
As a result of stringent checks of freight containers passing through the Port of Algeciras, a Risk Analysis unit, made up of Customs agents and Guardia Civil officers made a hefty seizure of 715 kilograms of cocaine late last month.
Radio Bahia Gibraltar claims that the seizure comes as a result of an analysis of the information generated by freight traffic in the Port of Algeciras. The vessels carrying the drugs hailed form South America, transporting packages of 122 kilos and 480 kilos of cocaine. A further six packages, weighing a total of 113kg were also seized in a third haul.
The investigation continues.
