Apr 10 - RGP Update - Boschetti’s Steps Re-Opened To The Public

The RGP has confirmed that Crime Scene Investigators [CSI] have completed their examination of the residence, which has been a crime scene for the past 11 days and has since been returned to the management company. Boschetti’s Steps has also been re-opened and the public now have access to this area.

The Royal Gibraltar Police says it is extremely grateful to those residents that accepted its offer to be re re-housed as a result of this tragic incident. The RGP says that these residents have recognised the RGP’s needs and have also had to endure periods of personal difficulty.

The RGP can also confirm that the investigation into the deaths is progressing and the Senior Investigating Officer [SIO], Acting Superintendent Wayne Tunbridge continues to confirm that his team has not arrested anyone in connection to the incident and are presently not looking for anyone else. The process of the forensic analysis is expected to take at least some eight weeks and RGP officers from the CSI Unit will be travelling to the UK to work alongside with experts from LGC Forensics, which is UK’s leading independent forensic science provider.

Her Majesty’s Coroner Mr. Charles Pitto has been fully briefed on the incident and it is expected that the bodies of the deceased will soon be handed over to the respective families.
