Final Call For Heritage Awards 2026

The Gibraltar Heritage Trust is reminding anyone interested in submitting a project for consideration for the 2026 Heritage Awards that the nomination window will soon close.

As previously announced, The Heritage Awards will now run on a two-year cycle with the current cut off point for this round being Wednesday 30th September 2026. It is important that nominations are accompanied by supporting material or portfolios, e.g.,

Before and after photographs, videos, news articles or illustrative materials to assist in the decision making process.

The Award categories are:

• Junior Heritage Award: For projects by a school, youth group, or individual(s) under 16.

• Group Heritage Award: For companies, groups or developers.

• Individual Heritage Award: For projects undertaken by private individuals.

• Special Commendation: At the discretion of the Board of the Trust for outstanding contribution to the positive promotion of heritage.

Eligibility

‘Heritage’ is understood in its broadest sense. Eligible nominations may include the preservation or sensitive refurbishment of a building (exterior or interior), structure, monument, or historic garden; school projects, publications, events, research, works of art, tree protection, archival preservation, or the sustained efforts of individuals in safeguarding Gibraltar’s heritage.

Who Can Enter?

Nominations are welcomed from developers, architects, engineers, contractors, landlords, property owners, schools, youth groups, organisations, businesses, and private individuals.
