The Gibraltar Federation of Sea Anglers is inviting young people to take part in a series of free fishing seminars ahead of its annual youth competition.

A statement from the Gibraltar Federation of Sea Anglers follows below:

In response to growing interest in fishing among young people, the Federation is  organising three introductory seminars followed by a fishing competition. Led by  experienced Federation anglers, the seminars will cover the basics of fishing and give  participants a strong foundation to build their skills.

Each session will last around 45  minutes to one hour and will take place on Tuesday 21st July, Tuesday 28th July and  Tuesday 4th August, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The fishing competition will be held on  Saturday 9th August at Peter Isola Promenade, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.

The seminars form part of the GFSA’s education programme and are open to any young  person who would like to learn the basics of fishing. Parents are encouraged to attend  with their children, especially if they want to gain the knowledge and confidence to  support them when they go fishing together.

No registration is required. Anyone interested should arrive at the Lecture Room on the  1st floor of the Boathouse, Victoria Stadium Complex, by 9:45 am on each seminar day.  Participants who attend all three seminars will receive a certificate of attendance and  will have the opportunity to put their new skills into practice during the competition.
