Government Congratulates Gibraltar Padel Association

The Government has congratulated the Gibraltar Padel Association as its men’s and women’s senior teams compete at the FIP Senior World Cup in Buenos Aires.

Minister for Sport Leslie Bruzon said the teams’ participation marks a significant moment for padel in Gibraltar, with the tournament continuing until 19th September.

The Minister for Sports, the Hon Leslie Bruzon, has congratulated the Gibraltar Padel Association on their competition at the FIP Senior World Cup in Buenos Aires, Argentina. 

The Minister for Sports, the Hon. Leslie Bruzon, said: "What an incredible and historic moment for Gibraltar Padel! To see both our Men’s and Women’s Senior National Teams representing Gibraltar at the FIP Senior World Cup 2026 is something we can all be immensely proud of. 

“This achievement reflects the hard work, dedication and passion of the players, coaches, GPA Committee and everyone who has contributed to the growth of padel in Gibraltar. For a young Association to reach this stage and provide our players with the opportunity to compete under the Gibraltar flag on the world stage is truly remarkable. 

“Regardless of the results, every player, coach and delegate representing Gibraltar with pride in Buenos Aires has made history and inspired the next generation of local players.”
