RGP Introduces New Asset Tracking System

The Royal Gibraltar Police has signed an agreement with Complyport for a new system to track money and property seized during financial crime investigations.

A statement from the RGP follows below:

The Royal Gibraltar Police has signed an agreement with Complyport Limited for the  use of CAPTURE, a system that tracks money and property seized during financial  crime investigations.

When the RGP seizes assets during an investigation, they must be accounted for  until the courts decide what happens to them. CAPTURE provides a single record of  what is held and where, whether that is a property, a bank account, a vehicle or  cryptocurrency.

The Commissioner of Police said: "When we seize assets, the public is entitled to  know they are properly accounted for from the moment they are taken until a court  decides what becomes of them. CAPTURE gives us that, and it means we are as well  equipped to deal with a digital wallet as we are with a bank account.”

The agreement reinforces Gibraltar’s financial crime enforcement capabilities,  providing modern tracking infrastructure to address the growing complexity of criminal  assets.
