Unite Welcomes Back Bus Company Employees

Unite the Union has secured bargaining agent status to represent employees of the Gibraltar Bus Company, welcoming its members back to the union.

A statement from Unite the Union follows below:

Unite the Union, today (26th October) wishes to welcome back its Gibraltar Bus Company (GBCL) membership.

Unite the Union is pleased to announce that it has secured bargaining agent status to represent GBCL employees, marking an important milestone in ensuring that their voices are heard and their interests are represented.

Unite and its members intend to work collaboratively with the employer. This development provides that opportunity, and the union recognises that successful employment relationships are built on mutual respect, transparency, and a willingness to work together.

Donovan Correia Unite Regional Officer stated “We are pleased to welcome our members back to Unite, the union where they belong. GBCL have long been associated with Unite and indeed the TGWU before that.

“The granting of bargaining rights does not mean that the union’s work is complete. In fact, the hard work to prove that Unite is the union for GBCL employees begins now. We shall work collaboratively with the employer but always ensuring that our members voices are heard and their interests protected.”
