The 2026 National Day celebrations will officially begin on Friday 21st August with the opening of the Gibraltar Fair. The Moorish Castle will also be lit up in red and white from Friday until 11th September.

Main Street and Irish Place will have live entertainment on National Day, Thursday 10 September. Performances will take place from 9:30am to 11:45am at several locations around town, including Cathedral Square, the Piazza, Engineer’s Lane and Irish Place.

The Government says the Westside reclamation will deliver around 2,300 affordable homes exclusively for Gibraltarians.

The 24-Hour Swimathon returns to Gibraltar on 26 August, raising funds for SSAFA Gibraltar.

The Gibraltar Fair will officially open at the Ex Rooke Site on Friday 21 August at 7pm. Rides will be priced at £3, with games, food stalls, local charities and free entertainment at the Family Pavilion throughout the week.

Second Lieutenant Ollie Kennedy has officially commissioned into the Royal Gibraltar Regiment following the Sovereign’s Parade at Sandhurst on 7th August. He will now complete further training in Brecon before taking command of a platoon later this year.

The Government is asking the public to share their views on Gibraltar’s natural environment as part of the new National Nature Restoration Plan. The online consultation is open until 5pm on Monday 31st August.
