HM Customs has arrested a man after a parcel containing around 1kg of cannabis resin was intercepted during an investigation. The man was later arrested on suspicion of drug possession, possession with intent to supply and attempted exportation, with a further arrest made after officers allegedly found suspected cocaine during a search. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.

A 32-year-old Georgian national is due to appear before the Magistrates' Court after being charged with possessing a forged passport. The RGP says she was arrested at Gibraltar International Airport after officers allegedly found her with a forged Lithuanian passport and her genuine Georgian passport in her possession.

The RGP has arrested three local men, aged 27, 30 and 35, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following the incident at Varyl Begg Estate on Friday. The arrests follow the earlier arrest of a 26-year-old man, with the investigation ongoing.

The RGP says a 26-year-old local man was arrested on Friday on suspicion of assault following an incident near Canton House in Varyl Begg Estate. The victim was taken to hospital with facial injuries and suspected fractured ribs. The investigation remains ongoing.

The Government says a Spanish fishing vessel has been reported after it was spotted fishing without a permit in BGTW off Europa Point on Wednesday.

HM Customs has arrested three local residents following an operation by its Flexible Anti Smuggling Team.

A 42-year-old Spanish national appeared before the Magistrates’ Court on 10th August and was charged with one count of Burglary and one count of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm, to which he pleaded Not Guilty.

A 33 year old Spanish national appeared before the Magistrates’ Court on Friday and was charged with one count of Theft and one count of Going Equipped for Theft.

HM Customs has confirmed the seizure of 242kg of cocaine from a commercial vessel during a maritime operation carried out in June. The drugs were found concealed inside the ship’s rudder trunk.
