Jul 11 - Mrs Gibraltar Contestants Enjoy Dog Section Training Exercise
11 July 2016
The Mrs Gibraltar contestants enjoyed watching and participating in a Gibraltar Defence Police Dog Section exercise this morning at the Buffadero Training Camp.
Officers from the GDP put on a display of the various techniques the handlers use to guide their canine companions during operations. The dogs tracked a trail, disabled an “attacker” wielding a weapon, and conducted a building search.
However, it’s clear that police dogs – although potentially very powerful and scary tools in the hands of trained law enforcement agents – still enjoy a good old cuddle and stomach scratch in the shade!
The Mrs Gibraltar pageant takes place this Saturday. Tickets priced at £30 are on sale at Trends, 70 Main Street.
