A Celebration of Opera

Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS), on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and in conjunction with the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society, is pleased to announce the details for this year’s Celebration of Opera. The concert will be held on Tuesday 10th June 2025 at the Holy Trinity Cathedral at 8:00pm.
Featuring performances by tenor Matteo Lippi, soprano Aitana Sanz, and pianoforte Ugo D’Orazio, it promises to be a fantastic Gala Evening of Song and Opera.
World-class Matteo Lippi is acclaimed for his performance in major operatic roles across Europe, highly recognised for his warm, expressive tenor voice and his ability to bring depth and nuance to a variety of operatic roles.
Aitana Sanz is notable for her vocal clarity, technical proficiency and emotive interpretations, making her a superstar in the operatic world.
Ugo D’Orizio is a distinguished, experienced and versatile solo pianist and accompanist.
Society Chairman Ernest Gomez commented: “The Gibraltar Philharmonic Society is once again delighted to organise the eagerly awaited annual Celebration of Opera concert for Gibraltar Cultural Services on behalf of the Ministry of Culture. The line-up of accomplished artists promises to provide a memorable and diverse programme for all tastes. The Society wishes to thank the Ministry of Culture for its continued trust and support.”

Tickets are priced at £22 and are available via www.buytickets.gi. Tickets for Senior Citizens and Students are priced at £10 and can be purchased at the John Mackintosh Hall Reception, 308 Main Street.
