Sep 28 - Miss Gibraltar makes it to the 6 finalists
Maroua Kharbouch, Miss Gibraltar 2013, successfully made it to the final 6 contestants earlier today at the Miss World 2013 Pageant.
Maroua, who was awarded with the People's Choice was photographed on the final stage, hand in hand with Miss Spain, an image that most have thought very powerful after months of heated relationships between both countries.
Minister Linares congratulated Maroua on her performance:
"Maroua has done us proud with a beautiful speech so wonderfully delivered.” The Minister would also like to thank everyone in Gibraltar who voted for her and whose votes helped her to get into the final.
Chief Minister Fabian Picardo tweeted earlier "Moving to see Miss Gibraltar @MarouaKharbouch and Miss Spain holding hands on the world stage! Beauty with a purpose!" and that he felt the photo was "An example to those who spread division and hate!"
