The Cross Frontier Group to Present its Call for Agreement to the UK Government

The Cross Frontier Group has held a full assembly meeting to prepare for an upcoming engagement with Stephen Doughty, the UK’s Minister for Europe and North America.
The meeting, held in Gibraltar, brought together the Group’s trade union and business representatives. The main focus was preparation for next week’s visit to London, where a delegation from the Group will meet with Minister Doughty, one of the UK’s key negotiators in the ongoing talks on Gibraltar’s future relationship with the EU.
The Cross Frontier Group expressed its thanks to Unite the Union’s political representatives in London for their efforts in securing this meeting. It is scheduled to take place on the morning of Thursday 5th June.
The delegation attending on behalf of the Group will include President Darrel Cerisola, Vice President Lorenzo Pérez Periañez, Secretary Manuel Triano, Christian Duo from Unite the Union, and John Isola from the Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce.
The Group’s goal is to clearly convey its support for a fair and balanced agreement — one that ends the uncertainty endured for too long by workers and businesses in both communities, and enables meaningful socio-economic progress across the region.
The delegation also intends to gather as much information as possible on the status of the negotiations and the UK Government’s outlook for the coming stages.
This visit forms part of the Group’s wider dialogue efforts with all parties involved in the treaty process following Brexit, including political and institutional figures from Gibraltar, Spain, and the United Kingdom.
