Nov 12 - Gibraltar Port Authority Attends IBIA Annual Convention In Mexico
CEO and Captain of the Port, Bob Sanguinetti, attended the annual International Bunker Industry Association's (IBIA) convention in Cancun, Mexico, representing the Gibraltar Port Authority.
The event saw senior members from the international maritime community gather to discuss key issues and challenges affecting the general shipping and bunkering sectors, analyse trends and forecasts, and consider emerging technologies and opportunities.
Commodore Sanguinetti presented a case study on the prospects for LNG bunkering at Gibraltar which generated much interest and discussion.
Caretaker Minister for Shipping, Albert Isola, said: "Attendance by the GPA at these sorts of high profile events is a fundamental part of Government's proactive marketing strategy, aimed at further reinforcing the Port of Gibraltar's reputation as a centre of innovation and maritime excellence."
