Unite the Union has announced that it successfully reached a pay agreement for 2025 with Mitie Defence Gibraltar.

The agreement comes after extensive negotiations aimed at ensuring fair wages and working conditions for our members.

The agreement reflects our commitment to advocating for the rights of workers in the defence sector and recognises the vital contributions made by employees at Mitie Defence Gibraltar. Key elements of the agreement include:

• Salary Increase: An across the board consolidated £1300 basic pay increase for all employees, ensuring that wages remain competitive. The amount would also be pensionable.

• The increase represents the following: £ 25000 a 5.2% increase

• On-Call Allowance: Will increase by 3.2%.

Unite’s Branch Coordinating Official, Christian Duo, stated, “This agreement is a significant achievement for our members at Mitie Defence Gibraltar. It showcases the power of collective bargaining and our commitment to securing better pay and conditions for all workers. Not forgetting that Mitie pay agreements average in the UK stands at around a 2% increase. I would like to thank my Shop Stewards committee for their continued hard work and commitment, and we will continue to support our members and advocate for their rights.”

The new pay agreement will take effect as per the different bargaining groups date of application. The first one being from January 1, 2025, and will be implemented across the board for all employees at their anniversary date.
