Nov 14 - Deputy Chief Minister Briefs MEP Assistants
14 November 2016
The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia briefed a group of MEP assistants on Friday on the latest developments following the decision taken in the United Kingdom to leave the European Union.
This is the latest in a series of familiarisation visits to Gibraltar. The purpose of these visits is to provide a better understanding of Gibraltar to MEPs and their staff.
The Government says that these visits are all the more important now given the potential challenges posed by Brexit and the need for the Gibraltar view to reach as many decision-makers as possible.
Dr Garcia told the MEP assistants that an orderly and sensible Brexit was in the best interests of Gibraltar, the UK, Spain and indeed the rest of the EU.
