Jun 26 - Garcia Briefs EU Parliament Assistants
The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Joseph Garcia, this morning briefed a number of European Parliament assistants on current issues affecting Gibraltar and the European Union.
The assistants are in Gibraltar on a two-day familiarisation visit. They come from Poland, Estonia, Hungary and the United Kingdom and all of them work with Members of the European Parliament.
Dr Garcia briefed them on a series of EU-related matters including the border, aviation, the environment and taxation.
They will receive a number of other briefings, including one from the Minister for Financial Services Albert Isola.
“The Government considers that it is important to ensure that the position of Gibraltar is received and understood in Brussels and this is part of that wider strategy,” said Dr Garcia.
