Sep 08 - GSD Has Started Selecting Election Candidates

The GSD has begun its process of selecting its election line-up, and will be in a position to present its candidates to the electorate by the beginning of October, whether or not an election has been called by then. The decision was taken at an executive meeting last Wednesday. 

The Chairman of the Party has written to all members informing them that the executive has commenced the process and that applications by those interested in standing for election must be in by 12 pm on 21 September 2015. Prospective candidates must be nominated by an executive member and seconded by any other party member.

A spokesman for the GSD said: "We are very excited about the coming months. We are confident that we will provide the membership and the electorate with a competent and vibrant team of hardworking and capable individuals, who led by Danny Feetham, will represent our community in a responsible but effective way."

Marlene Hassan Nahon, Media Spokesman said: "We are all looking forward to this election. Starting this process early shows we are ready to offer ourselves to the people of this community as an alternative to the Government with confidence and optimism."
