Nov 12 - King’s Bowl Competition To Offer Equal Pay Out To Both Men And Women

King’s Bowl at the King’s Bastion Leisure Centre has confirmed that it will pay out equal prize money to both men and women as part of its 2015 Bowling Tournament. Initially, the tournament had advertised that ladies who won top prizes would receive less money than men despite charging the same entry fee.

A statement from King’s Bowl released this evening reads:

“While it is customary for bowling competitions in the United Kingdom to offer less prize money for Ladies events, due to the fact that fewer women compete than men in their events. The King’s Bastion Leisure Centre will be increasing the prize fund for the current competition so that the pay- out for both Men’s and Ladies events are exactly the same. This is a policy, which the current Government introduced and as a Government owned company we are giving an example to all as to how real equality should function.”
