Mar 10 - Guiding Can Empower Young Girls And Women
This week has seen various initiatives to mark International Women’s Day. Here we look at a project led by Girlguiding Gibraltar.
As part of work towards her Queen's Guide Award - the most prestigious award within guiding - and as a way of celebrating International Women's Day, Analiese Lancaster decided to create a video and launch it on Girlguiding Gibraltar's YouTube and Facebook pages. Analiese says that this is “a way to celebrate the ways in which guiding can and has empowered young girls and women.”
Guirlguiding Gibraltar held a launch party on Tuesday evening during which members of the association as well as the Minister for Equality, Social Services, Tourism and Housing, Samantha Sacramento, were invited to watch the video presentation for the first time. It was also announced at the launch party that Ms Sacramento would become Girlguiding Gibraltar's first Ambassador.
