Nov 21 - University Of Gibraltar To Hold Beacon Lecture Series
The University of Gibraltar will be hosting the Beacon Lecture Series over the winter months, featuring talks from Gibraltarians who have received international recognition.
Conductor Karel Mark Chichon, artist Christian Hook and sports physician Dr Eva Carneiro will form part of the lecture series which are all free and open to the general public.
A spokesman for the University said: “Lighthouses are beacons of light, which by their activity and prominence serve to illuminate their surroundings.
“There are individuals in our society who are beacons too, who have achieved distinction in lands beyond our Rock, where they continue to serve as sources of inspiration and motivation for our community.
“The Beacon Lecture Series brings Gibraltarians of the highest calibre from the worlds of academia, business, the arts and civil society to our campus to share their thoughts, ideas and experiences.
“The University of Gibraltar is honoured to host such internationally-recognised Gibraltarians as part of its Beacon Lecture Series.”
All lectures will be held at the Europa Point Campus and to register, email [email protected] or call 200 71000.
