British Forces Gibraltar Celebrate His Majesty King Charles III’s 77th Birthday With Ceremonial Parade In Casemates Square

Spectators gathered at Grand Casemates Square to watch British Forces Gibraltar mark the 77th birthday of His Majesty King Charles III with a parade on the evening of Thursday 12th June.
A statement from British Forces Gibraltar follows below:
The Royal Gibraltar Regiment marched across the square for the third birthday parade for King Charles III. The event combined military precision, tradition, and public celebration in honour of the Sovereign’s official birthday.
The Royal Gibraltar Regiment, supported by personnel from British Forces Gibraltar, performed precise drills in ceremonial uniform to the stirring sounds of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Band and Corps of Drums. This musical display was further enhanced by the presence of visiting musicians from the British Army Band Colchester, deployed to Gibraltar for the event.
The King’s Colour’s and the Regimental Colours of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment were proudly marched into the square. On his arrival, the Governor was greeted with a Royal Salute and conducted a formal inspection of the parade, accompanied by a rendition of the National Anthem. Dignitaries from across the Rock were also in attendance to mark the occasion.
The Royal Navy Ensign and Royal Air Force Standard were then marched onto the square ahead of the traditional 21-gun salute, fired by Headquarter Company (Tompson’s Battery) of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment from the Land Port in tribute to His Majesty.
The birthday parade concluded with rousing cheers for the King echoing through Casemates, marking the end of a proud and dignified celebration. The event was a clear display of Gibraltar’s enduring loyalty to the Crown, sovereignty and its rich ceremonial heritage.
