Nov 27 - Miss Gibraltar 2018 Attends Miss World Pageant

Miss Gibraltar, Star Farrugia, has been participating along with the other 119 contestants at receptions, official ceremonies, filming and touring the city.

Star took part in the 68th Miss World Opening Ceremony, which was held at the Mangrove Tree Resort.

A spokesperson said: "Here, each contestant promoted their country, parading around the beautiful resort in their National Costume. Other outings included visiting the Orphanage in Sanya, the World Book contribution, the Hainan International Tourism Island Carnival (now in its 19th year) and the Dongtian Park. The latter is also known as Taoist Fairyland Park or Daxiao Dongtian Park, which is ranked as Hainan's oldest attraction.

"Star has already taken part in the Dances of the World, Top Model and Head to Head Challenges. The 22-year old has been documenting her journey on her Facebook Pages 'Miss Gibraltar' and ' Miss World - Gibraltar'.

"The highlight of Star's trip will be the Miss World Final, which will be held on Saturday 8th December in Sanya.

"GBC will broadcast the Miss World Pageant live on Saturday 8th December at 12:00pm.

"Miss World Head to Head Challenge

"At the start of the Miss World Festival, it was announced that all the contestants would be involved in the new Head to Head Challenge. The participants were divided into 20 groups, with each group to appear in 30 minute broadcasts in a bid to share their stories with the world.

"After each contestant’s introduction, a series of questions followed. This aimed to provide a greater insight into the Miss World Festival with interviews and behind the scenes footage.
