Prime Minister Congratulates Chief Minister On UK-EU Agreement

The Chief Minister Fabian Picardo KC MP was delighted to speak to the Prime Minister Keir Starmer this afternoon shortly after the announcement of a UK-EU Gibraltar Trade and Mobility Agreement in Brussels this afternoon.
The Prime Minister congratulated Mr Picardo on the conclusion of the agreement and conveyed his satisfaction that the agreement is one that can be welcomed by all parties, the UK, the European Union, Spain and Gibraltar.
Mr Starmer agreed that this is a brilliant step forward for Gibraltar that will lead to great opportunities for future economic development.
At the time of the call the Chief Minister was on a flight to the United Kingdom with the Foreign Secretary David Lammy and the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia on the first leg of his return to Gibraltar from Brussels.
