Minister for Equality signs Terms of Reference with the Joint Pensioners’ Convention of Gibraltar

The Minister of Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, the Christian Santos, signed Terms of Reference for Meetings with the Joint Pensioners’ Convention of Gibraltar (JPCG).
The JPCG, led by Chairperson Michael Netto, is made up of representatives from Unite the Union, Gibraltar NASUWT, Gibraltar General and Clerical Association (GGCA) and Gibraltar Senior Citizens Association (GSCA), who work together to address issues related to equality within the pensioners’ and senior citizens’ community of Gibraltar.
Meetings held with Minister Santos are to facilitate constructive dialogue between the Ministry for Equality and the JPCG. The signing of the Terms of Reference has outlined the objectives and purposes of these meetings and formalises the responsibilities of all parties.
Minister Santos said; “I am pleased to sign a formal document which spells out the objectives of the JPCG and my responsibility as Minister for Equality for such an important sector of our community, our elderly. Our senior citizens have contributed so much to Gibraltar, so I am committed to ensure their issues have a forum for discussion and, wherever possible, to find favourable resolution of any concerns”.
