Treaty Meetings In Madrid

The Chief Minister Fabian Picardo is in Madrid to continue the ongoing talks for a treaty which will govern Gibraltar’s future relationship with the European Union. The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia will attend meetings virtually.
A statement from the Government follows below:
The delegation comprises the Attorney General Michael Llamas and the Director of Gibraltar House in Brussels Daniel D’Amato.
The Government remains firmly committed to the conclusion of a treaty which is safe, secure and beneficial for Gibraltar.
This contact between the different parties at all levels is expected to continue going forward.
In the Chief Minister’s absence, the Deputy Chief Minister will attend Thursday’s VE Day Commemoration Ceremony at the Cross of Sacrifice on behalf of the Government and People of Gibraltar.
