Fourth South District Constituency Meeting

The Fourth ’Town Hall’ style meeting of the South District Constituency was held on Wednesday at the Central Hall.
A statement from the Government follows below:
This gave the opportunity to South District residents to raise issues of concern or interest to them with their Constituency Minister John Cortes. The Minister was accompanied by officials from the Traffic and Transport Department, Technical Services and the Environmental Agency.
Residents mentioned their satisfaction at a number of recent improvements in the area, and suggested further changes to do with traffic and buses in particular.
There was considerable discussion too on the environmental impact of Gibdock on the area. Senior representatives of Gibdock were present at the meeting and engaged directly with the residents in an open and constructive exchange.
A number of site visits are now planned to follow up on some of the suggestions made.
Minister Cortes commented: “The Constituency meetings have become very useful indeed in opening lines of communication between residents and both Government and private entities working in the South District. We have seen positive outcomes and will see more in the future.”
