4th Commons And Overseas Territories Speakers’ Conference

The Speaker of the Gibraltar Parliament, Judge Karen Ramagge, recently attended the 4th Commons and Overseas Territories Speakers’ Conference accompanied by Mr Phillip Borge McCarthy, Secretary to the Gibraltar Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

The Hon Judge Karen Ramagge GMH MP, Speaker of the Gibraltar Parliament attended the 4TH Commons and Overseas Territories Speakers’ Conference, held in Portcullis House, London, from 13 to 16 May 2025 accompanied by Mr Phillip Borge McCarthy, Secretary to the Gibraltar Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.
The Conference brought together Speakers from across the Commonwealth to discuss matters of Parliamentary democracy, good governance, and shared challenges facing legislatures. The event included keynote addresses, panel discussions, and collaborative workshops designed to encourage the exchange of ideas and best practices among Parliamentary leaders.
In addition to participating in the conference, Madam Speaker was granted an audience with His Majesty The King and later was present at the Royal Garden Party hosted at Buckingham Palace.
The attendance of the Gibraltar delegation highlights the Branch’s continued engagement in Commonwealth Parliamentary affairs and its commitment to fostering interparliamentary dialogue.
