Convent Marmalade Wins Bronze Award

His Excellency the Governor has congratulated the Convent Chef, Mr Tony Knott, for winning a coveted Bronze award in the UK Dalemain World Marmalade Awards.
The Dalemain World Marmalade Awards is an annual competition that seeks to find the best marmalade in the world and to raise money for charity. This year, there were over 3,000 entries and therefore competition for an award is fierce.
This is the first time that Tony has entered the competition, making his Bronze award even more impressive. The ingredients were entirely Gibraltarian: he selected oranges from the Cloister at the Convent, along with lemons from the garden of Major Dominic Collado.
Additional jars of marmalade were made for the Convent Garden Open Day this week. All sold out very quickly. However, a further batch of the award winning marmalade will be produced by Tony and sold at the Convent Christmas Fair on Thursday 27th November.
