As Pride Month draws to a close with Gibraltar Pride to be held this coming weekend, Unite the Union Gibraltar stands in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ members, colleagues, and communities, not just for June, but every day of the year.

We are once again proud to support this year’s Pride Day celebrations on 28th June, and we send our best wishes to the Gibraltar LGBTQ+ community for a successful and joyful event. Pride in Gibraltar is a powerful expression of unity and courage, and we hope everyone enjoys the day and the celebrations planned by and for the community.

Pride is more than rainbow flags and parades. It’s a living reminder of the struggles that have been fought and continue to be fought for dignity, respect, and equality. These struggles didn’t begin with Pride Month, and they don’t end when June is over.

Equality cannot be seasonal. The rights, safety, and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people are not up for debate, and they do not expire when the calendar flips to July. In our workplaces, our communities, and our movement, LGBTQ+ people still face real challenges from discrimination and being overlooked, to open hostility and isolation. These are not side issues they are trade union issues.

Unite exists to protect and empower all workers, so when LGBTQ+ workers experience injustice, we act. Whether it's ensuring inclusive workplace policies, standing up to harassment, or supporting members through grievances and disputes, we are there. Pride is not just a celebration; it is a call to action.

This year, we reaffirm our belief that real change comes through visibility, solidarity, and organising. Unite Gibraltar is committed to building workplaces and a society, where equality is not only spoken about, but lived, defended, and advanced every single day.

To our LGBTQ+ members: your fight is our fight. We see you, we value you, and we stand with you not just in June, but always.
