Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau Calls On Public To Celebrate Grandparents Day This Sunday

Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau is reminding the public to celebrate Grandparents Day this Sunday 5th October 2025.
A statement from the Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau follows below:
Gibraltar Citizens Advice would like to take this opportunity to remind the public of an important day in the calendar that often passes quietly and without much recognition; Grandparents Day, which this year falls on Sunday, 5th October 2025.
Grandparents hold a very special place in our families and communities. They are the storytellers, the wisdom-keepers and the steady presence that connects us to our roots. Their love and guidance often shape us in ways we only come to appreciate later in life. There is nothing a grandparent treasures more than time spent with their children and grandchildren.
This Grandparents Day, why not take a moment to make them feel cherished? Surprise them with a visit, invite them on a family outing, or share a meal together. If your grandparents live far away, a phone call, video chat, or even a handwritten postcard can mean the world and if your grandparents are no longer with you, consider honouring their memory by reaching out to an elderly neighbour, visiting someone in hospital or in a care home, or simply offering companionship to someone who may be feeling lonely.
Grandparents and their generation are the pillars of our families. They embody values, traditions, and resilience that continue to inspire us today. Let us use every opportunity not just on Grandparents Day, but throughout the year, to show them the appreciation, respect, and love they so deeply deserve.
