Public Sector Pay Forum Holds Positive First Meeting

The Public Sector Pay Forum, chaired by His Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar and comprising representatives from Unite the Union, the GGCA, Gibraltar NASUWT, and the Gibraltar Police Federation, held the first of its pre-scheduled monthly meetings on Friday 17th October.
A statement from the Government, Unite the Union, the GGCA, Gibraltar NASUWT, and the Gibraltar Police Federation follows below:
The Forum provides a structured platform for constructive dialogue and collaboration between the Government and public sector unions, with the shared objective of negotiating and agreeing upon a multi-year public sector pay deal, commencing in 2026.
Today’s meeting focused on setting the groundwork for these negotiations, with each party outlining its respective submissions for the Terms of Reference that will guide the Forum’s work in the months ahead.
All members reaffirmed their shared commitment to achieving the best possible outcome for public servants.
The Government agreed to prepare and circulate a draft outline of the joint Terms of Reference, which will serve as the foundation for the Forum’s continued work. This document will be shared with all parties in writing at least one week prior to the next scheduled meeting in November.
