Delegate Wanted for UK Youth Parliament

The UK Youth Parliament will sit in the House of Commons on 6 November.
In the same way as on previous occasions, young representatives from the UK Overseas Territories have been invited to address the Youth Parliament, including a representative from Gibraltar.
The delegate will deliver a two-minute speech from the despatch box on a chosen theme and this will be broadcast live on Parliament TV.
The theme this year will be “Education and Learning”. This was selected by 3057 votes from 11 Overseas Territories with 18 schools taking part.
The Government of Gibraltar will be funding the participation of one young person and one companion to this event.
The experience, which is taking place at the invitation of Mr Speaker, is open to young people aged 11 to 18.
A statement ended: “Priority will be given for Gibraltar to be represented by a young person who has not taken part in this event before. However, this depends on the level of interest.
“In order to allow for the selection of a delegate, the Government invites those interested to submit 400 words on the subject of “Education and Learning” as it impacts Gibraltar.”
Entries must be submitted by email to; [email protected] The closing date for entries will be 12 noon on Monday 27th October.
