GHITA Announce Successful Completion Of British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 Online Course

The Gibraltar Hearing Issues and Tinnitus Association have announced the successful completion of the British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 course by a group of adult students.

The Gibraltar Hearing Issues & Tinnitus Association is excited to announce the successful completion of the British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1 course by a talented group of adult students.
The online classes, held in 2025, via the Gibraltar College were delivered by Signcode UK and led by Deaf Tutor Elizabeth Bojad.
The following students qualified to BSL Level 1
- Adam Cook
- Bettina Manner
- Aya Chahid
- Naomi Duarte
- Lizanne Field
- Jenny Sciacaluga
Assessed by Signature, these students have demonstrated a solid foundation in BSL, enhancing their skills and commitment to communication and inclusivity.
We congratulate the students on this accomplishment.
We also give our thanks to the Gibraltar College, Elizabeth Bojad and Signcode UK for their dedication to teach BSL in Gibraltar.
Today the award ceremony was held at the City Hall thanks to the support of Deputy Mayor Nicky Guerrero and his team.
Those present included Hon Professor John Cortes Minister for Education, GHITA Committee Members Edgar Triay GA (Chairperson), Toni Gomez (Vice Chair), Maite Facio-Beanland (BSL Ambassador), Gill Earl (Signcode UK) and Daniel Benrimoj (Gibraltar College).
