The Minister of Justice, Trade and Industry, Nigel Feetham, last week attended Consensus Hong Kong 2026, the leading digital asset conference in Asia.
Consensus attracted close to 10,000 attendees from over 100 countries. Consensus Hong Kong is a premier gathering for industry leaders, innovators, and regulators shaping the future of digital assets and blockchain technology.
Minister Feetham was a speaker at the Conference and participated in a panel discussion. Separately, Minister Feetham was interviewed live on CoinDesk, the global digital media, events, and information services company for crypto and blockchain technology.
Whilst in Hong Kong Minister Feetham also met potential investors looking to leverage Gibraltar’s supportive ecosystem, and separately, met with Hong Kong’s Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury. Hong Kong is a global financial powerhouse and is ranked the leading financial centre in the Asia-Pacific region.
A statement ended: "Minister Feetham's presence in Hong Kong underscores the Government of Gibraltar's drive to boost growth and innovation in Gibraltar’s finance sector. This follows Minister Feetham’s attendance last month at ICE in Barcelona, the largest gaming conference in the world."
Commenting Minister Feetham said: “We want to ensure we remain visible with global players in sectors crucial to our economy, and we are investing significant time and effort into promoting Gibraltar, working closely with our local stakeholders. At Consensus Hong Kong, I was interviewed live on CoinDesk, the global financial media company widely regarded as the Bloomberg of digital assets. It is work that needs to be done to secure our economic future and drive growth.”
