Gibraltar Philatelic Bureau Latest Collection Commemorates Queen Elizabeth II: 100 Years

The latest collection from the Gibraltar Philatelic Bureau commemorates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The set is comprised of six stamps and an additional special addition of a £10 high-value stamp.

A statement from the Gibraltar Philatelic Bureau follows below:

Comprised of six stamps and an additional special addition of a £10 high-value stamp, this collection pays a heartfelt tribute to the life and legacy of Britain’s longest reigning monarch, each stamp reflecting a defining moment of her remarkable life and reign.

The six stamps from the collection follow the life of Her Majesty in chronological order, with the 30p stamp featuring her as a one-year-old in 1927, through to her coronation in 1953 on the £1 stamp, and a photograph taken during a public appearance in recent years for the £4 stamp, highlighting her trademark colourful wardrobe.

In addition to the six stamps, the accompanying higher value £10 stamp features Queen Elizabeth II on horseback during the Trooping the Colour ceremony in 1951 where she represented the Royal Family, taking the place of her father George VI who was unable to attend the ceremony due to ill health.

The artistic vision behind this collection was brought to life by local graphic artist and long-time collaborator of the Gibraltar Philatelic Bureau, Mr. Stephen Perera, whom has masterfully selected the different photographs to illustrate and honour the dedication of Queen Elizabeth II to not only her role but also her loyal subjects.

Also available from the Gibraltar Philatelic Bureau is the Europa 2026 collection, a firm favourite series in the philatelic world, this year celebrating its 70th anniversary. Europa stamps are an annual collaboration across Europe, celebrating the cultural and historical diversity of the continent.

These collections, and much more, are now available to purchase online at www.gibraltar-stamps.com or at the Philatelic Shop at 104 Main Street, Gibraltar.
