Apr 24 - School Kids Win Day Trip to Gibraltar Courtesy of Monarch Airlines
As part of an initiative coined by Monarch Airlines, a group of children from Harris Academy in Bromley UK, won the opportunity to take a day trip to Gibraltar, courtesy of the Airline.
Speaking to YGTV, Caroline Ward of Monarch’s Customer Experience department explained that the airline had done a huge amount of research, coming to the conclusion that customers want more enjoyment in their flying experience.
The Airline set up a competition to be carried out by schools across the UK, asking them why they think they should win a free trip to Gibraltar, Verona or Dubrovnik.
The flight left London Gatwick this morning, arriving at Gibraltar at 10:50am. The group was greeted by Minister for Tourism Neil Costa, as well as Miss World 2009 Kaiane Aldorino and the Gibraltar Regiment Band. Members of MH Bland were also at the Airport to welcome the group, including their Mascot, the Barbary Macaque.
Their visit will include a tour of Gibraltar’s major attractions, including the 100 Ton Gun, the lighthouse, St. Michael’s Cave, and the Great Siege Tunnels. The group will also take a ride on the Cable Car and will enjoy lunch at the Cable Car Top Station sponsored by the Gibraltar Tourist Board, where Kaiane Aldorino will sign autographs for the group. Some free time for shopping in the Casemates area has also been allowed.
The group will depart from Gibraltar at 7:50pm, this evening.
