May 14 - Upper Rock Pathway Renovations Almost Complete
14 May 2013
As part of the recently proposed Upper Rock Management plan, the Devil’s Gap footpath has seen an extensive refurbishment carried out in recent weeks. The renovation set out to make the pathway more accessible and included placing picnic tables at the view point.
The project has been manned by Carl Viagas with the involvement of GONHS and the Gibraltar Heritage Trust who ensured that the project was carried out in a sensitive way. The pathway will also feature interpretation panels, which will inform passers-by on the wildlife and historical importance of the area. The footpath was also recently declared a special area of conservation.
