Jun 28 - Local Teachers Congratulated on Masters Degree Completion
13 local primary and secondary teachers were recently awarded Masters Degrees in Educational Leadership and Management, by the University of Durham. The successful teachers were today congratulated by Education Minister Gilbert Licudi. 6 were awarded distinctions and another 5 were awarded merits. The course provides teachers with an understanding of the importance of leadership within schools and was designed in partnership with the Department of Education, specifically for the local context.
In his commendation the Minister highlighted the Government’s continued commitment to professional development and the drive to improve standards. As mentioned in Minister Licudi's budget speech, the Department of Education continues to explore similar partnerships with Higher Education institutions for the provision of other professional development courses for teachers.
