Jul 09 - Earlier Start For Number 7 Bus

The Ministry for the Elderly and the Ministry for Public Transport wish to inform users of the Route 7 bus service to Mount Alvernia that, with effect from Tuesday 9 July, the bus service will start 1 hour earlier at 10 am instead of 11 am. This follows a request from the Friends of Mount Alvernia to Minister Sacramento.

This new start time will apply from Mondays to Fridays. On weekends and public holidays the service will continue to start at 11am.

This change will remain in force for a trial period of three months.

The Hon Samantha Sacramento said “I am delighted to be able to help the Friends of Mount Alvernia by having the bus start 1 hour earlier as they have informed me that, as friends and families are invited to join in morning activities at Mount Alvernia, it would be most useful to them. I would like to thank my colleague Neil Costa MP, Minister for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and the Port and the management of the Gibraltar Bus Company who has assisted my Ministry not only with this request but also for the excellent service that is provided to the passengers who use this bus to come to Mount Alvernia.”

Commenting on this subject, Minister Neil Costa stated “Only last week the Bus Company announced some further changes to existing routes on the basis of representations received on a trial basis commencing on 15th of this month. As the public is aware, the routes and services of the Gibraltar Bus Company are under constant review and my team considers all requests received from our users that will improve this important public service.”
