Aug 08 - Cortes Signs Contract Allowing for Continuation of University Degree Programme with Kingston
Minister for Health Dr John Cortes, as Chairman of the Gibraltar Health Authority, signed a three-year contract extension with Kingston and St. George’s University in order for University Degrees to continue being taught and awarded in Gibraltar.
Present at the signing with Dr Cortes were Professor Fiona Ross, Dean of Faculty of Health and Social Care Sciences, Dr Julia Gale who is Head of the School of Nursing, Amanda Ashley, Head of Business Operations, John Langan, GHA Chief Executive, Freddie Pitto, GHA Director of Nursing and designate CEO, and Dr Ron Coram, the Government's head of training.
Throughout the day there were extensive discussions on future training possibilities for health workers in Gibraltar and on the forthcoming Graduation Ceremony to be held in Gibraltar in the autumn.
