Aug 22 - Rise in GCSE Passes for Bayside and Westside
With students across the UK and Gibraltar receiving their GCSE results this morning, Education Minister Gilbert Licudi has congratulated youngsters who have been successful with their grades.
He added, ‘It is pleasing to note that there has been an overall percentage rise in students attaining A* to C grades, which is up from 64% to 68%. Furthermore, in spite of the overall dip in the top grades in England, the average percentage for our schools in the A* - A range still stands at over 25% in line with last year’s results. This year both schools have also seen an overall rise in the A* – C grades in Mathematics and English. It is also worth noting that over 55% of our students attained 5 GCSEs or better including English and Mathematics.’
Results will be analysed by the Department of Education as they continue to work closely with schools identifying specific areas for development and improvement.
