Oct 08 - Educating the Public on Recycling Awareness
08 October 2013
In a bid to educate the public on Recycling in Gibraltar, the Department of the Environment’s technical staff, Janine Galliano, Sera Fromow and Jonathan Kay hosted an awareness day down at the piazza this morning.
With a visit from Environment Minister Dr. John Cortes, the stall included leaflets full of nifty facts about recycling in Gibraltar. A pink WEEE recycling bin stood as a reminder to passers-by, that bins have recently been implemented for electronic items including small household items such as clocks, coffee machines, phones, computers and toys.
Information at the stall also detailed the benefits of recycling and the various locations in Gibraltar where recycling bins can be found.
