Oct 10 - Regiment Association Bid Farewell to Governor and Lady Johns Over Dinner
The Royal Gibraltar Regiment Association (RGRA) held a farewell dinner for His Excellency the Governor Vice Admiral Sir Adrian Johns and Lady Johns at the Rock Hotel Rib Room Restaurant, recently.
Event organizer Bernard Graffione noted, ‘both His Excellency and Lady Johns have been very supportive of the RGRA during their time on the Rock and have visited the Association on numerous occasions. We wanted to give them a wonderful evening as a way to say goodbye and express our thanks’.
Honorary Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Dennis Duarte OBE gave a speech and presented Lady Johns with a bouquet of yellow roses and The Governor with an inscribed presentation box containing the three silver Regimental cap badges; the Gibraltar Volunteer Corps, the Gibraltar Defence Force and the Royal Gibraltar Regiment.
The Governor thanked those present for such a wonderful dine out and thanked the RGRA for making both himself and his wife feel so welcome in the Association, he then signed one of the Menu Cards as a memento which will be duly framed and take pride of place in the RGRA premises.
