Nov 05 - Appointment of New City Fire Brigade Head of Operations and Training

fire brigadeDivisional Officer Anthony Yusifredo has been appointed as head of the Operations and Training at the City Fire Brigade on promotion as from the 4 November 2013.

Divisional Officer (DO) Anthony Yusifredo joined the City Fire Brigade as a Firefighter in April 1990 and was promoted to Leading Firefighter in May 2001, he has served with the Operations Department throughout his career and was the head of White Watch from January 2011.

During this period DO Anthony Yusifredo has attended various Firefighting courses at the Fire Service College, Moreton-In-Marsh, Gloucestershire including; the Watch Commanders course, Incident Command Level 3, Advanced Commander course. He has also being trained as a Rope Rescue Supervisor at Outreach Training and is also a qualified Medical First Responder Instructor.

He is also one of the key officers responsible in developing and delivering the Sub-aqua capability and training in the City Fire Brigade where he has achieved the PADI Diving Instructor Level 1 award.

In 2002 he successfully completed a HNC in Fire Safety Engineering with the University of Central Lancashire (UCL) in partnership with the Fire Service College. In 2004 he was awarded a Degree in Fire Safety Studies by University of Central Lancashire (UCL) and also attained corporate Membership in the Institution Of Fire Engineers. He is also the holder of the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership.

As head of the Operations and Training Department he is responsible for all aspects of Training within the organization in addition to forming part of the CFB Senior Management Group.
