Nov 14 - Environmental Agency App Launched
The Environmental Agency this afternoon launched Gibraltar’s first environmental app.
The app has four main sections: an information section which has statistics about air quality and bathing; a reporting function through which the public can make the Agency aware of litter and noise problems; a recycling section that contains details about the location of Gibraltar’s recycling facilities and, finally, a news section.
The Minister for the Environment, Dr John Cortes, said that this project “brings Gibraltar well up into the 21st century.”
Dr Cortes was keen to stress that the new app, which allows for closer interaction between the agency and the public, was not just another “gimmick.”
The app features a new logo for the Agency which was designed by Architecture student John Napoli.
The app, called GibEnviro, is now available for free on Apple’s App Store and will be launched for Android platforms in January.
