Feb 18 - Slow Moving Frontier Queues Return
Ahead of the recently formed Cross Frontier Group’s mission to present a dossier on Frontier issues to the European Commission today, lengthy border queues of over 3 hours for vehicles crossing into Spain occurred, yesterday evening.
Recently frontier delays and vehicle tailbacks had appeared less frequently, with pedestrian queues also appearing to have called down. RGP tweets published yesterday evening warned individuals that queues by foot were forming, causing 30 minute queuing times.
The third lane was implemented by the RGP early on in the evening, with vehicle queues stretching back down Devil’s Tower Road to St. Theresa’s Church. The RGP also tweeted that between 6 and 6:30 pm movement of vehicles had been particularly slow, with only 24 cars crossing into Spain over the half hour period.
